A combined team of Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Ports Authority, and good samaritans successfully combated an explosion in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
Earlier today, there was an explosion caused by a fuel tanker while negotiating Zone 6 roundabout.
The incident happened at about 1PM and no life was lost.
Mr. Bassey Augustine, an Assistant Superintendent of Fire from the Federal Fire Service, Calabar Command advised that “When an explosion occurs, we don’t need any electrical appliances like phones in the environment so that it will not result in another fire outbreak.”
His colleague, Assistant Superintendent of Fire, Ibol Edward revealed that: “We came here around 1PM when the explosion started. We are here with the support of the Nigeria Ports Authority.”
