The Management of the University of Calabar, UNICAL has suspended a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Mr. Paschal Aboh over his alleged involvement in examination malpractice.

Pascal Aboh was reportedly engaged in Nigerian Law School, Abuja where he impersonated a resit student at the law school examinations.

According to the suspension letter signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, and approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi, he’s suspended with immediate effect from May 25, 2022, pending the conclusion of investigations by the Nigerian police.

The university management describes Aboh’s action as “embarrassing and unacceptable” and a direct contravention of the institution’s staff condition of service, and falling short of the zero tolerance to examination malpractice status of Prof. Florence Obi-led administration.

Florence directed the suspect to hand over all university properties in his possession to the Dean of law while the Bursar is to ensure he is placed on half salary through the period of his suspension.
