A former Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Usani Uguru Usani has emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP in Cross River State for the March 2023 general elections.
In a similar vein, a marine engineer, Amimmbemiso Bassey emerged as the guber candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC while that of the Young Progressives Party, YPP is Joseph Coco-Bassey.
The trio emerged in affirmation primaries conducted over the weekend at the respective party secretariats in Calabar, the Cross River capital.
While accepting the nomination, Pastor Usani commended party members for trooping out for him especially as the country was, “in an era where people will not do anything except there is Naira and Dollar to induce them.”
For Engr. Bassey who was affirmed via voice votes, he pledged to work hard to ensure victory at the polls and stressed that the time for the youths to lead was now as those in power had led Cross River backwards.
