Cross River State Internal Revenue Service Introduces Electronic Gaming Solution For Tax Payment

The Cross River State Internal Revenue Service (CRIRS) has ended a one-day sensitization exercise on ease of tax payment in the State.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting held in Calabar, the State Internal Revenue Service Chairman, Mr. Akpanke Ogar said the sensitization is geared towards the new electronic gaming solution to enable easy payment of taxes.

Akpanke said the essence of the exercise is also to chat way forward and alert taxpayers of their obligations to the State in the area of tax.

He said problems shared by participants will be addressed for the betterment of all.

On his part, Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) Consultant Mr. Peter Eneji said they operate a tier-three design data center that is secured and will ease the bottlenecks.

He said e-gaming platforms will help eradicate illegal gaming operators or agents, enable promotion and control of the system, be very convenient, and accountable, and run a centralized database for operators.

Also speaking, O.M Consultant, Mr. Femi Oguntade said the WhatsApp module for collection of withholding taxes noted that the app facilitates easy revenue payments.
