Niger Delta Watch: Gunmen Invade Imo Community, Abduct 15

Fifteen young males were last weekend, arrested by the Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Ekwe community in Isu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Reports suggest they were excavating sand at the Njaba River while the Palace of the Traditional Ruler, Eze Nicholas Ibekwe was also invaded and shots were fired in the air.

The Monarch who has since confirmed the development said one of the gunmen who spoke Hausa language alleged that the community was training criminals.

The Imo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force is yet to comment on the incident over 24 hours after it happened.
