Mr. Peter Akpanke has won the re-run primaries of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwara federal constituency.

Mr. Peter clinched 60 votes to beat four other aspirants. His closest rival was KJ Jedy Agba who polled 33 votes at the primaries held at Bekwara Local Government Area.

Udayi Julius, Elaunire Ushie, and Bukke Ikongshul scored zero votes each.

Mr. Akpanke had won the initial primaries which were held in Calabar after violence rocked the first one in Obudu.

He told journalists that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC should prepare for the general elections as their plan to frustrate the PDP did not work.
