Ndoma-Egba, Sandy Onor, Others Invested With Papal Honors In Ogoja

The Bishop of Ogoja Catholic Diocese, Most Revd. Dr. Donatus Akpan on Saturday, invested the leader of the seventh National Assembly, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba and the 2023 guber candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Sandy Onor among others with papal honors.

While Ndoma-Egba was invested as a Knight of St. Sylvester the Pope, KSS, Onor was invested as a Knight of St. Gregory the Great, KSG.

The duo, alongside former Attorney General of the Federation, Kanu Agabi, SAN, were among 15 people approved by the Holy Father, Pope Francis to be awarded with the Papal honors of Chaplain of His Holiness, KSS, KSG and Dame of St. Gregory the Great, as part of the centenary celebrations of the Diocese.

The All Hallows Chancery, which is the Diocesan Bishop’s house, had on May 11, 2022, listed the fifteen beneficiaries, including the late Military Governor of Rivers State, Brig. Gen. Anthony Ukpo rtd.

The Catholic Knighthood is a sacred institution in which the Church always lays great stress on the concepts of humanity, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, service to the Church, service to the country, protection of the weak and the less privileged, courage, honor, and fidelity.
