The Cross River State Government has begun the second round of maternal newborn and child health week.
The week, put together by the Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Ministry of Health, and some partners are to be marked across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
The week begins from 30th November to 4th December 2022. It is for children from the age of 0-59 months and pregnant women.
According to the State Government, health workers will be in all health facilities, churches, schools, and other designated posts to give interventions such as vitamin A supplements, deworming tablets, and routine immunization.
Other interventions are birth registration, screening for malnutrition, iron and fersolate tablets for pregnant women, family planning services, HIV counseling, and testing including PMTCT services.
