Cross River State House of Assembly has confirmed Mallam Adamu Uba Musa, and twelve others as Commissioner nominees sent to it by Governor Ben Ayade as members of the State Executive Council.
Also confirmed by the lawmakers is the Director-General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong.
Adamu after the confirmation will be the first non-Indigene from Hassan/Fulani Muslim Community to be sworn in as a member of the state’s highest decision-making body.
Born in Ogoja in the northern part of Cross River State, Adamu is a graduate of Public Administration. He also attended both primary and secondary school in Igoli, Ogoja.
Their confirmation followed the report of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions, and Ethics after a thorough screening of the nominees and presented to the house for ratification.
In his remark, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Eteng Williams advised the nominees to justify their appointments as members of Ayade’s cabinet.
He said the Committee report showed that the nominees were found worthy to be appointed as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council, having met the constitutional requirements, fit and proper to be nominated.
Aside from Adamu Musa and Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, others are Mrs. Ekwele Agube, Prince Sunday Awara, Hon. Wogor Umari, Dr. Hippolytus Lukpata, Mrs. Gertrude Njar, and Mr. Patrick Ebam. Others are Okoma Inyang, Dr. Denet Eyo Nsing, Hon. Godwin Etta, Hon. Ankpo Pius Edet, and Ntufam Ekpenyong Effiong Iso.
