Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) have listed 51 federal agencies, including the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, the Supreme Court, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) as “high corruption risk.”
In a statement on its official Twitter account, the agency said that the “52 MDAs declined to respond to the Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) deployed in 2022 by ICPC. They were classified as ‘High Corruption Risk’ (HCR) and are flagged for the attention of the public and for further inquiries and actions.”
The agency added that “failure to respond to such simple demands by ICPC for reviews or tools to improve operational practices may be symptomatic of a system deficit, impunity or a cover-up for fraud and administrative felonies,” adding that it “calls for a systems study and review of the MDA, and where necessary, investigation and other law enforcement interventions.” The agency stated.
