One of the world’s best fictional writers, Chimamanda Adichie has been conferred with a chieftaincy title of ‘Odeluwa’ (she who writes for the world) by her community in Anambra State.
Chimamanda Adichie hails from Abba in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. The writing genius, Chimamanda is recognized globally as one of the best authors of both fiction and nonfiction books.
The chieftaincy title is in recognition of her contributions to the development and welfare of the Abba community, making her the first female to receive such a title.
The ceremony was witnessed at the 45th Ofala/the birthday celebration of His Royal Highness – Sir. Leonard Nwankwa Ezeh in Awka, Anambra State.
The award-winning writer was in the company of her husband – Esege Ivara who hails from Itigidi in Abi LGA of Cross River State.
The Governor of Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo as well as the Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and other dignitaries graced the ceremony with their presence.
