Queuing For Money, Fuel, And PVC: Reality And Way Forward.
INTRODUCTION
There are only 20 days left to the Presidential and National Assembly polls slated for Saturday, February 25, 2023.
It is expected that the candidates of the various political parties will be on the final leg of their campaigns. However, conversations have centered around what has become known as the “weeks of queues” following reports of long lines at different spaces across the country.
These spaces have ranged from fueling stations for petroleum products to banks, Automated Teller Machines, ATMs, for cash, and offices of the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for Permanent Voter Cards, and PVCs.
These queues have persisted for weeks with that of PVCs ending today while those for cash and petroleum products have persisted.
What has been said about these?
Who has said what?
When did this start?
How are the people coping with this?
What have the queues caused?
These and more form the basis of this week’s Call-In edition of ‘The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo’ with the topic: “Queuing For Money, Fuel And PVC: Reality And Way Forward.”
