The Governor-elect of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu has visited a former Director General of Nigeria’s secret police, the SSS, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong at his private residence in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The meeting happened on Friday, CrossRiverWatch gathered.
It is unclear what the duo discussed at the private meeting.
However, CrossRiverWatch gathered that it may be in connection with his planned governance and administration strategy in the State upon assumption of office.
The State has been bedeviled with many security challenges ranging from kidnapping to gangsterism, communal clashes among others.
Mr. Ekpenyong is said to have nursed an ambition to be Governor but later shelved the idea. It remains unclear whether he shared his planned policies with Senator Otu.
