A Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Mr. David Ayoka Atim has frowned at a news report alleging that Hon. Patrick Uguge allegedly raped his ward.
Men of the Nigeria Police arrested Hon. Uguge yesterday for allegedly rapping his ward following a complaint by Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCI to the State Commissioner of Police.
BRCI in its letter dated 27 of April 2023 signed by Barrister James Ibor, Principal Counsel urged the Commissioner to ensure justice prevails.
Hon. Uguge is a former member of the State House of Assembly, from Ogoja. The incident occurred in mid-April 2023 in Ogoja.
Expressing his dissatisfaction for not being aware of the matter, he questioned why it was in public.
His opinion on the report was made while he replied to the report post on Facebook.
He stated, “I work in Social Welfare as a Special Adviser, I’m not aware of this matter. Please why this here? This is a very serious matter for you to handle without the notice of the State. I DON’T LIKE THIS AT ALL.”
