Sen. Ben Ayade, the immediate past governor of Cross River State has posited that the back-to-south agenda was divinely orchestrated.

Sen. Ayade bared his mind while giving a valedictory speech at the handing over ceremony at EJ Esuene stadium Calabar, May 29th, 2023.

He said, “We have shown that indeed the voice of the people, the voice of God, the arrogance and supremacy of humanity have collapsed to the power of the people.”

Lashing other the major opponent of the APC in the election, PDP, maintained that: “Those who decided to go and share power with the outsiders to colonize our state we have colonized them and cross river have taken its position and have decided that indeed that our state is driven by the principle of equity and fairness.”

On salary, he said, “Never in the history of Cross River and Nigeria has a governor paid salary to the last day, the month of May.”

To his critics, the highly critiqued Digital Governor said: “To be in this office, you have enemies whose business is to demarket you.”

Ayade also remarked about his predecessor, Sen. Liyel Imoke, whom he said did all he could to install him as his successor in 2015.

“I acknowledge Senator Liyel Imoke who played a big role in my emergence as governor in 2015. That’s why I can’t hurt him and he too cannot hurt me.”
