The Member representing the Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwarra Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Peter Akpanke, has taken a needs assessment tour of his constituency immediately.

The lawmaker who in the course of the tour consulted with religious leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, youths, and opinion molders in the constituency is charting the way forward on how to solve problems affecting his Constituents.

Some of the areas in focus across the constituency include; electricity, employment, empowerment, and infrastructural development. The tour began from Bekwarra Local Government Area of the constituency.

According to Hon. Akpanke, embarking on the tour immediately after Inauguration, was to enable him to represent the people with a framework designed in the interest of the constituents.

While speaking to the people, he said he was grateful to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunity and support given to him and that despite being elected from the platform of the PDP, he is now a House of Representatives member to everyone in the constituency irrespective of their political party.

He said: “God has used all of you to elect me so that we can change the narratives together. One thing I can assure you all is that I will be a representative of the people and will leave no stone unturned to see that we drive down the dividends of Democracy to our Federal Constituency.”

Meanwhile, State Auditor-General of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Adida Agabi, who spoke on behalf of the people of Bekwarra, thanked the lawmaker for such an initiative and for coming home immediately after the inauguration to hear from his people. He assured him of support from the people of Bekwarra as they offered prayers for his success.

The tour creates room for the lawmaker to meet, interact, and rub minds with his constituents on their needs.
