The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of academic activities in seventeen (17) new programs at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS).
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Augustine Angba disclosed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, during the 111th Regular meeting of the University’s Senate.
The listed approved programs as:
- Broadcasting
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Marketing
- Animal and Environmental Biology
- Plant Science
- Microbiology
- Library and Information Science
- Human Kinetics
- Information Systems
- Peace Studies
- Sociology
- Entrepreneurship
- Banking and Finance
- Software Engineering
- Early Childhood Education
- Economics
- Industrial Chemistry
The approval of these programs is an outcome of NUC’s Resource Verification visit to the University.
The visit was held in April 2023.
The approved programs are scheduled for commencement in the next academic session.
The development is another awesome leap for UNICROSS, following the recent ranking of the University by Times Higher Education as the 7th best in Nigeria and 37th in Africa, among 51 universities that were ranked in Sub-Saharan Africa.
