One Killed,  Another Injured As Robbers Raid Street In Calabar

A 400-level student of the Department of Political Science, University of (UNICAL), has been allegedly shot dead by a gang of armed robbers on Tuesday morning in Calabar.

Eyewitnesses told CrossRiverWatch, that the student identified as Odey Michael Efenji, was shot on Tuesday 21 November, 2023, along Goldie Street Calabar by a gang of armed robbers who were in their numbers at about 2:am.

The student according to information, hails from Utugwang in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.

One of the victims who craved anonymity, explained that the incident “leaves fears and anxiety in the minds of students and residents” where the robbery took place.

One of the eyewitnesses explained that one of the victims was also shot in the leg due to an attempt to struggle with his television set with the robbers. Cash and other valuable items were carted away.

As of the time of this report, the corpse has been moved to the morgue while the injured was rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) by the police.
