VIDEO: Cross River Government Takes Anti-Protest Campaign To Church, Accuses IPOB Of 2020 Vandals

By Patrick Obia

The Government of Cross River State, has taken its anti-protest campaign to church, dissuading members from joining the August 1’st proposed nationwide agitation against “bad governance”.

The Chief of Staff to Governor Bassey Otu, Emmanuel Ironbar gave the warning during a Thanksgiving service at the Bible Crusade Christian Mission (BCCM), in Calabar South Local Government Area of the State, where he also fingered the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) of having hands in the 2020 #ENDSARS arson.

“Church Praise the Lord. I want to use this opportunity to tell us that we have heard of rumors concerning protest. It is a nationwide situation that we can avoid, in Cross River State most importantly. We are aware of what we suffered four years ago in which we have not recovered from it up to this moment.”

He said it is impossible for the government of Governor Bassey Otu and President Tinubu to perform magic to turn the fortune of the nation and state around in just one year.

“I can say that there is no government that can perform magic within one year. So in Cross River State, I want to plead with us, especially the youth. Please don’t allow yourself to be used by hoodlums whose intention is just to loot.

“Our Igbo brothers, please don’t allow our Biafra friends to infiltrate our State again because you also will suffer even more. You are the business we have here. Without you we can not survive here. The moment you allow these people to enter here, your shops will be vandalized and your properties taken away and our youths who will blindly get involved may end up losing their lives.”

He enjoins parents and guidance to plead with their wards to shy away from the proposed protest.

“On this note, parents, mothers, youths and even the young men, say no to protest. Let anyone that wants to protest go and protest in their own states. The Government is trying; even at the national level Tinubu inherited all these problems from the last government. You can not expect magic within one year.

“The Government meant well for Cross Riverians and our church stands well for the dividends of democracy that are coming. I thank you very much as you do me this honor and don’t get involved for the forthcoming protest, he said to the congregation.
