The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has embarked on tertiary institutions students loan sensitization, in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and other States.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr led his team on the sensitization tour to the University of Calabar and the Akwa Ibom state Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene.
During the tour, Mr. Sawyerr and his team educated students, faculty members and other stakeholders about the importance of student loans in financing higher education. They educated students on the application process, repayment terms and the various benefits of student loans.
NELFUND said the tour objective is to clear common misconceptions about student loans and encourage more students to take advantage of the financial assistance available to them.
By providing access to education, NELFUND hopes to reduce financial barriers and increase enrollment rates among talented but financially disadvantaged individuals.
Mr. Sawyerr stressed on the importance of investing in education and the benefits it can have on individuals and society as a whole.
He urged students to chase their academic dreams without having to worry about the financial burden and assured them that NELFUND is determined to assist their educational journey.
The sensitization tour was received by the students and faculty members at both institutions. It generated remarkable interest and attracted lively interactions about the role of students loans in promoting educational equality and economic mobility.
