A 400 level student of Medicine and Surgery, University of Calabar (UNCIAL) Mark Ofre Okwohe has been kidnapped.
The news of his abduction broke out by the Publisher of CrossRiverWatch and Human Rights Activist, Citizen Agba Jalingo, in the late hours of Sunday June 1, 2025.
His whereabouts is not ascertained as of time of this report.
The abductors are yet to reach out to his family, loved ones or the school Management.
Meanwhile, students have been urged to be vigilant, security cautious and report unusual movement, persons or activities within the campus.
Note: this story has been edited to effect some changes. The President of Students’ Union Government of UNICAL, Comrade Blessing Alims was mentioned in the earlier report to have reacted to the kidnap in a release made available to CrossRiverWatch by her Chief Press Secretary, Cynthia Maduekwue.
But Blessing disclosed that Cynthia Maduekwue is no longer her CPS after her graduation. That the releases was issued without her consent.
