There is an ongoing gunshots at the boundary between Tiv village in Benue State and a Community in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The sporadic shooting which began in the early hours of Friday July 18, 2025, has caused tension in the communities.
Reliable sources told CrossRiverWatch that “the gun shots are suspected to be fired by the Tiv Community as they are testing their arms and ammunition at the boundary.”
Another said that “the Men of the Nigeria Army have gone to calm situations at the scene as there is no gun battle between the two communities sharing boundary together.”
This will be the second time gun shots are fired at the boundary between the two communities this year with both communities long been at loggerhead over land demarcation.
One of the sources added that normalcy is gradually returning.
