The Cross River State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that a female child identified as Magdalena Bassey Oku, aged about 8 years, has been found and is currently in safe custody.
In a press release issued on Friday, February 27, 2026, by the Command’s spokesman ASP Sunday Eitokpah said the child is dark in complexion, speaks Efik and English fluently, and is from Akwa Ibom State. She has no tribal marks. Preliminary information indicates that both parents are deceased. She was reportedly staying around Adiabo, 8 Miles, Ika Omini Division, where she slept in market stores and churches.
The Command hereby appeals to members of the public who may have useful information regarding her relatives or guardians to urgently contact the Divisional Police Officer: 0803 797 7274, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO): 0706 797 7330 or the nearest police station.
