Human Right Lawyer, James Ibor Esq., has emerged the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Yakurr 1 State Constituency for the 2027 general elections.
Mr. Ibor’s affirmation happened Friday afternoon, following the party’s primaries held across the constituency.
The exercise, which was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), concluded with the official declaration of Comrade Ibor as the party’s candidate.
Party faithful, supporters and stakeholders from different wards participated in the process, which was described by party officials as peaceful, transparent and in line with the electoral guidelines of the party and the electoral umpire.
Mr. Ibor, a no-nonsense lawyer who detests injustice, and all forms of abuse, is an advocate of child rights and fights against gender based violence.
Ibor is the co-founder of Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, (BRCI), a civil society organization focused on human rights advocacy, access to justice and community empowerment.
