In a major milestone for technological innovation and academic excellence, Cross River State has secured a spot in the highly competitive Phase Two voting stage of the InnovateNaija Challenge.
The state’s flagship entry, the BMV-6 Medical Ventilator, was designed and developed at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS).
Following a successful initial round propelled by public support, the BMV-6 Ventilator is now set to represent Cross River State against entries from the 36 other states at the prestigious National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Invention Fest, scheduled to take place later in 2026.
The breakthrough device represents a massive leap forward for local medical engineering, showcasing the capacity of UNICROSS and Cross Riverians minds to build critical, life-saving healthcare infrastructure domestically.
With the competition entering its crucial final stretch, stakeholders and citizens are being called upon to rally behind the project to secure a national victory.
In an information made available to CrossRiverWatch’s newsroom, stakeholders are to follow the precise steps and note that their votes are only complete once verified via email.
Cross Riverians are to visit the Voting Portal directly to the NASENI Phase 2 voting site: NASENI Phase 2 Voting, Locate the Invention, Scroll down to the 9th video, which showcases the BMV-6 Medical Ventilator.
After that, Cast Your Selection by Checking the box and select “#9. Babson Ajibade – Cross River” right underneath the video.
You now go further to submit Your Details, Scroll down to the bottom of the page, enter your email address, complete the Captcha security check, and click “Vote”.
Verify Your Vote (Crucial Step): Open your email inbox, look for the verification email sent by “InnovateNaija”, and click “Confirm my Vote”.
You can also secure three additional votes for the BMV-6 Medical Ventilator by liking and commenting on the official video across NASENI’s social media channels. Every engagement directly influences the final standings
