The Cross River State Government has spent (two hundred and seventy eight (278) million Naira on international trips in the first half of 2026, budget performance document shows.
The figure is the 10th highest in the country, says the report which focuses on trips made between January 1st and June 30th 2026.
According to SaharaReporters, it places Cross River as the only South-South States on the log.
The revelation comes amidst protests by civil servants over months of owned salaries.
CrossRiverWatch deeper finding and analysis reveals that 2.004 billion Naira was budgeted for International Travels.
13.9 percent has been spent.
Meanwhile, 24.7 percent of the 5.953 billion Naira budgeted for local travels which amounts to 1.470 billion Naira, has since been spent too.
Furthermore, 1.599 billion Naira or 29.2 percent of the 5.470 billion Naira budgeted for local transportation and travels for training has since been spent too.
The findings reveals that N1.470 billion for regular local transportation and travels while N1.599 billion for local transportation and travels for training totals 3.069 billion Naira for local transportation and travels combined.
It also showed that cross River State has spent 3.3billion Naira on local travels, training and others, plus 278million Naira on international travels in 6 months.
