A graduate of Human Psychology from the University of Calabar, Ogomogom Nyenneyorbase Eteng and a graduate of College of Health Technology, Calabar, Enor-Abasi Ubi have been crowned as winners of the 2026 Leboku pageant which was held last night in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of central Cross River State.
“Leboku” is the lokaa (sub-dialectal group spoken widely in Yakurr) word for festival. The celebration is centered around the harvest of yams.
Over the years, the celebration was institutionalized with a pageant organized as part of other activities preceding the main event where prizes are awarded. This year, both winners hail from Ijiman council ward.
For the 2026 edition, Eteng 26 years old and a native of Letamkpakom who is a first time contestant, outperformed with other contestants to emerge as Mr. Leboku 2026.
Omini Nnanna Stephen from Ijiman and Ewa Marvelous Augustine from Ijom emerged as first and second runner up to Eteng.
Meanwhile, Miss Ubi 28 years old who is a popular hairdresser, edged five other ladies to emerge as Miss Leboku 2026. A third time contestant, Miss Ubi hails from Lebolkom.
Okoi Regina Eni from Ijom and Mercy Okoi Utum from Ijiman emerged as first and second runner up for the female category.
