Man Beats Nine Women To Clinch Campus Cooking Competition In Calabar

A Civil Engineering student in the Cross River State University of Technology has emerged winner in a cooking competition.

Modey Murphy emerged winner after beating nine other participants who were all female in a keenly contested competition organized by Onga Seasoning, a brand of Promasidor.

Speaking with CrossRiverWatch, Morphy who cooked Banga soup said he could not describe how he felt when brand ambassador, Kate Henshaw who was in attendance mentioned his name as winner of the
competition.

“I can’t describe the way I am feeling right now, it is unbelievable, a guy winning nine ladies? That is awesome!” he said.

He further added that he was urged by his friend to contest as he is nicknamed ‘chief cook’ by occupants of his hostel.

Earlier, Kate Henshaw, the Onga Brand Ambassador stated that the event has gone round some tertiary institutions in the country and the winner from each institution will represent his or her institution in
the grand finale at Lagos to contest for a new Kia Rio car.

The event held at the Virtual Arts and Technology Department lawn with students thrilled by the performances of the contestants and dancing competitors in an elimination show.
