Students of Cross River State College of Education Akamkpa have been told to emulate and imbibe the spirit of self-discipline and exemplary leadership exhibited by members of the school Man ‘O’ War command.

This admonition was given by the provost of the College, Dr. Ejue Bassey on the occasion of the passing out ceremony and inauguration of the first female Chief Commanding Officer, CCO of the college command.

The provost thanked members of the Man ‘O’ War for being partners with the management in curbing insecurity and social vices within the college thereby maintaining law and order.

”The Man ‘O’ War has saved us lots of trouble from their consistent ability and effort in solving internal crisis without the school involving the police. We are grateful and will continue to partner with them to make their operation smooth.” he said.

Earlier, the out gone CCO of the Command, Patriot Hope Akpan said the Man ‘O’ War is an organization saddled with a Para-military touch that has put efforts towards national and socio-economic development through moral instruction.

”The club in collaboration with other security agencies on campus has helped in rendering effective security services like the maintenance of peace and order, traffic control on campus checking of indecent dressing, mounting of surveillance during students departmental and SUG elections, as well as other assignments by the management among others.” he said.

He advised institutions who are yet to have a Man ‘O’ War club to set up one as they will make security a lot easier for their management.

Also speaking, the newly inaugurated CCO, Igbari Theresa Umushi said she will build on the achievements of her predecessor, and promised to chase ‘enemies of the college’ out.

The event also featured passing out parade for the out gone commandant.
