Agi’s Case Against Ayade Suffers Set Back As Court Declines Jurisdiction

federal high court

The Federal High Court 6 sitting in Maitama, Abuja and presided over by Justice Adetokunbo Ademola (Jr.) on Friday March 20, 2015 declined jurisdiction in a case filed by Joe Agi (SAN) against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the April 11, 2015 Governorship election, Senator Ben Ayade.

The court declined hearing on the grounds of fair hearing pursuant to an oral motion moved by Ayade’s Lawyer, Paul Erokoro (SAN), fighting the fact that Ayade will not be guaranteed fair hearing in that court and requested the court to send the case back to the registry to be reassigned.

Despite Joe Agi’s objection, the court adopted Paul Erokoro’s agument and declined jurisdiction over the case.
All efforts to reach Joe Agi (SAN) by CrossRiverWatch to comment on the decision of the Federal High Court, and to find out his next line of action proved abortive as several calls to his phone were not taken.

After I initially commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and
from now on each time a comment is added I get four emails with the exact same comment.

There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service?

    Many thanks!
