Governor Ayade Swears In Tina Agbor As Cross River’s First Female SSG

The governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade today swore in a new Secretary to the State Government, SSG; Mrs. Tina Agbor.

Governor Ayade at the ceremony acknowledged the state was facing challenging times hence the need for the very best hands to be on board, stressing it was time to deliver service as her appointment was an act in consonant with the voice of the people and God.

“I was shocked with the level of ovation when I announced her (Tina Agbor) name, the Boki people went into wildfire. That shows acceptability, that shows her level of energy, that shows her net worth, that shows her net worth politically, that shows the choice was right, that shows it was the voice of the people, that shows it is the choice of God”. The governor said.

The new SSG, Tina Agbor according to a citation read earlier by Anthonia Monkom, the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, holds a law degree from the University of Kent in London and a Master’s degree in Management Psychology from the University of Lagos and practiced law in London and in Lagos upon her return to Nigeria.

The new SSG after taking the oath of denunciation of secret cult, fraternities and/or illegal societies for public office holders, oath of allegiance and oath of office, in her remarks said, the governor had opened a new political space and landscape as the state used to operate in a conclave which has now been opened and pledged to carry out her duties faithfully.

The ceremony which held at the Executive Chambers in the government house lasted 33 minutes and had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Esu, state chapter chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ntufam John Okon, Speaker, House of Assembly, Hon. Larry Odey, Head of Service, Mary-Theresa Ikwen, permanent secretaries and a host of other invited guests.
