Ayade Appoints New IRS Chairman, Others

Cross River State governor, Senator Benedict Ayade has approved the appointment of Dr. Ukam Edodi as the new Chairman of the State’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The appointment comes less than a month after the resignation of the former chairman, Dr. Peter Oti whom CrossRiverWatch reported recently was arrested by the anti graft agency EFCC, in relation to alleged corruption in the immediate past administration.

A statement by the Special Assistant Media and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita, said the Governor also approved the appointment of Mr. Gabriel Okulaja as the Special Adviser, Department of Public Transport (DOPT) while Engineer Eval Imoke is the new Special Adviser, Project Monitoring and Mr. Mfon Bassey is Chairman, Commercial Transport Regulatory Agency (CTRA).

The statement also adds the appointments are with immediate effect.
