The Cross River State House of Assembly is set to form a democracy club which will be unveiled next Friday, according to the Speaker of the House, Hon. John Gaul Lebo.
.
The Speaker who is currently attending the 46th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Nairobi Kenya, in an update on his timeline titled: “CROSS RIVER STATE DEMOCRACY CLUB TO BE FORMED AND UNVEILED NEXT FRIDAY”, said, “As a delegate to the 46th Commonwealth Parliamentary conference in Nairobi Kenya, I have learnt a few lessons.

“It was quite a fascinating experience to see Youth Clubs and Parliamentary Unions even in smaller democratic countries. I wonder why we have not invested in the scheme, it is time to act now.

“We will present a proposal to our colleagues to set up a DEMOCRACY CLUB alongside, the Youth Parliament. There are so many opportunities out there for them, scholarship, conferencing, seminars and employment.

“He suggested that the next Commonwealth Parliamentary conference should have a youth delegate from Cross River State and concluded by saying “Hopefully by next Friday, the club and parliament should be unveiled. Time is running out.”
