Cross River’s governor Ben Ayade has begun consultations with the caucuses of the People’s Democratic Party across the state in a bid to get nominations for members of the State Executive Council.

Ayade had earlier hinted journalists in a press conference that he will meet with the grassroots to make sure areas hitherto unrepresented will have a voice in his administration stressing that it is unwise to sit in his office and appoint commissioners and other positions.

Ayade since Thursday last week when the caucus sessions began now dismisses earlier from work to attend to them with the road leading up to Peregrino House (Governor’s lodge) always filled with cars parked on both sides of the road.

There is no report emanating from the sessions as members always keep mum with only the governor’s spokesmen, Christian Ita and Linus Obogo who head the government house press corps, allowed entry.

It is still unclear the method used for nominations and those who have received a nod from their local government caucuses so far but unconfirmed reports suggest that the eleven weeks old governor is not having a tough time with the various caucus members.
