Anwakang, Awaat Eso has been inaugurated as the Students Union Government (SUG) President of Cross River State College of Education Awi/Akamkpa to pilot the affairs of the union for the 2016/2017 academic session.
Expressing gratitude to the students of the College in the manner they conducted themselves during the election process, the Deputy Provost Dr. Obere Abiam charged the Awaat led executives to lead by example in all ramifications.
The Deputy Provost further said this is one of the most peaceful elections ever conducted in the institution attributing it to the E-voting system just introduced by the college management assuring that it has come to stay.
Concluding, he called on the union executives not to see it as an opportunity to enrich themselves but to serve their colleagues. He charged the Eso led executive to work harmoniously with the Parliament and Judiciary for smooth delivery.
On his part, the College Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Victor Effiong commended the Students Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) for ensuring that the process was open and transparent. He maintained that his office is ready to work in tandem with the union to achieve its goals.
Also the Students Independent Electoral Commission Chairman for the 2016/2017 academic session election, Dr. Sunny Etim thanked the college management and students for the opportunity given him to serve in that capacity and the trust reposed in him.
The oath of office was administered by Barr. Chuk Sam Eboh a lecturer of the college.
The other executive members are Omini Felicia Ibiang Vice President, Okongor Kajang Secretary General, David Edet Christian Assistant Secretary, Agbam Johnson Amos Financial Secretary, Marcus, Theophilus Kalu Director of Welfare, Oden Omini Enya Director of Information, Neji, Egbe Nkanu David Director of Sports 1, Ndifon Clementina Ekpu Director of Sports 2 and Asinabe Emmanuel Julius Director of Socials.
