At least two lives were lost Thursday following a daredevil raid in a renewed gangster’s rivalry in Boki local government area of central Cross River State.
It is still unclear the gangster groups that are involved but findings by CrossRiverWatch so far reveal that at least two died at Babsin and Okundi, both in Boki.
“They raided Okundi market yesterday which was a market day and scared everyone away with gunshots and display of different weapons” says Matt Osim (not actual name) on phone.
“They killed two people, one in Babsin and the other one at Okundi and we are at loss which group is actually killing which” Osim says.
Further findings revealed that cash and properties were carted away at the Okundi market which is reputed to be the largest in Boki with a trader complaining of losing over 250 thousand Naira in cash to the gangsters.
The Boki division of the Nigeria Police Force has since evacuated the area but CrossRiverWatch could not confirm as at the time of filing this report if any arrests were made yet.
