The Cross River State Government has commended the founder of the Arthur Jarvis University of Science and Technology, Arthur Archibong for putting in place high level infrastructure for the institution to kick off.
The inaugural matriculation ceremony for over 500 students admitted will also hold in April says the Varsity management.
The institution is the first private varsity in the state and the Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state, Rosemary Archibong while on a familiarization tour says the infrastructure places the institution at par with the best in the world.
Archibong commended the Chancellor, Arthur Archibong for his vision. She noted that the institution was in line with the policy thrust of the current administration which she said is passionate about education. This she said is evident in the approval by the Governor, to Asphalt the road leading to the institution without visiting it in person.
She said the project was exemplary and charged youths in the host and adjoining communities to key into the project as it was one of the best things that has happened to the area.
Earlier, the Chancellor commended the peaceful disposition of the host community and disclosed that the junior cadre staff and annual scholarship will be reserved for the indigenes of the host Local government area, Akpabuyo.
Also, the Professor Offiong Ani who represented the Vice Chancellor said that the institution has received approval from the Nigeria University Commission to commence academic activites in its four faculties.
Professor Ani also said the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has admitted over 500 students who will participate in the inaugural matriculation ceremony in April while students of the Department of Computer Science have commenced lectures at the e-library.
The commissioner later toured the facilities which include a modern medical centre and an 80 bed hostel for males and females.
