Hon. Savior Nyong has accused the Federal Government of violating section 12 of the 1999 constitution as amended by ceding a part of Bakassi to Cameroon.
Speaking to CrossRiverWatch TV crew in Calabar, the former Commissioner for Transport and Marine, now aspiring to represent Calabar South/Akpabuyo/Bakassi in the House of Representatives went on to fault the incumbent for poor representation.
According to the aspirant hoping to win PDP primaries, “It is common knowledge that we are not feeling the vibrancy of our representative, our representative being a fourth time member is supposed to be in the leadership of the National Assembly. Don’t forget I was a member of the State Assembly I have the legislative experience. There are other things that if we want to chronicle, it will take the whole day.”
He went on to state that, “There are lot of issues I want to tackle legislative wise. Bakassi is one of them. Bakassi was ceded out unconstitutionally. The Green Tree Accord signed in New York has not been domesticated. The Nigerian Government ceded Bakassi and that is a violation of section 12 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.”
Concluding he maintained that “I am going to be one of the most vibrant member of the National Assembly; also I will propagate the vision of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade.”
