The APC candidate that contested for the Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku constituency, Mr. Koko Dan has apologized to the Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade for the viral video which showed the alleged rigging of votes by some INEC officials on behalf of the People’s Democratic Party during the Presidential and National Assembly election.
The apology which was signed by Mr. Dan was contained in a public notice, where he stated that the said video was the handiwork of some of his overzealous supporters who acted without his knowledge.
The video which was later discovered to be staged, was said to be made to indict the State Governor who according to the video, was the Chief sponsor of the rigging activity and was going to compensate the INEC officials with the sum of 20 million Naira.
However, few days after the video went viral, a confession was made by one of the participants in the illegal act, stating that the exercise was staged and the staging was sponsored by Sen. John Owan Enoh and Mr. Koko Dan in a bid to defame the State Governor and the People’s Democratic Party.
