INEC Dismiss Staff in Cross River

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the dismissal of an unnamed Assistant Chief Engineer in its Cross River State office.

In a letter issued to the affected staff and signed by the Director, Human Resources Management, Musa H. Adamu, the Commission said the dismissal was with immediate effect.

The letter directed the dismissed staff to hand over any of the Commission’s property that may be in his possession to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Cross River state.

Excerpts of the letter read: “I am directed to inform you that the Commission at its meeting of 15th August, 2013 approved your Dismissal from the services of the Commission with immediate effect.

“Consequently, you are required to hand over any of the Commission’s property that may be in your possession to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Cross River State. Wishing you the best of luck in your future endeavor.”

As at press time, CrossRiverWatch was still unable to confirm the cause of the dismissal.
