There was pandemonium at Etta-Agbo area of Calabar a while ago as a police traffic warden officer was shot.
The assailants, according to an eye witnesses shot at the officer as he was performing his duty of traffic control close to the University of Calabar small gate and immediately speed off
Police spokesperson, Irene Ugbo confirmed the report when asked by NKONG NG.
Although the identity of the officer could not be immediately verified by this paper, doctors are said to be currently struggling to save his life at an undisclosed hospital.
Although, reason for the incident is still sketchy, some residents and traders around the area who spoke with this paper said, it may not be unconnected with the violent cult clash currently bedeviling the ancient city.
