Cross River born Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba, on Saturday, bagged a Doctorate Degree in Public Administration.

The Honorary Degree conferred on him by the Benson Idahosa University, BIU, Benin City, Edo State during it’s 16th convocation ceremony of the varsity held at the University Legacy campus.

In a vote of thanks shortly after the conferment, the Minister said he didn’t see it coming and that, “I don’t consider myself worthy for this.”

Agba however, pledged to lend his support to the university to ensure they produce best and outstanding graduates into the labour market.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Benson Idahosa University’s family. Honestly, I don’t know how and why I was chosen for this great honour because I don’t consider myself worthy for this. I thank the University Senate and management for finding me worthy for this award.

“I pledge that I’ll support the university in any way I can. We will work to support the university by galvanizing support to build a structure for the Law faculty and I’ll want the facility to be named after my wife who’s a Lawyer when completed,” he said.

Also honoured was, Apostle Folorunsho Alakija, the Group Managing Director of The Rose of Sharon Group and the Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, who was awarded Doctorate Degree in Business Administration.

The Vice Chancellor of BIU, Prof. Sam Guobadia said the duo were awarded the degrees based on their selfless contributions and achievements to humanity.
