Citizen Solution Network, a non-profit making organization whose official car was stolen on October 5, 2023, in Calabar, is yet to be found.
This is as the Country Director of the organization Richard Inoyo in a statement made available to CrossRiverwatch laments the current trend of insecurity in the State, especially in Calabar, the State capital.
He said either the Cross River Government or the police has moved swiftly or “has either given any tangible account or provided closure on the crime case concerning the missing gold Toyota Camry car with the plate number HA 207 ABC belonging to Citizens Solution Network.”
Mr. Richard disclosed that he has been advised to keep mute and stop talking about it.
“From all indications, the only response gotten from authorities is that they wish we simply stop talking about this car theft crime and the insecurity in the State, and yet, just last week at Afokang, the State Correctional Facility/Custodial Center was attacked by armed men and one of the guards killed.
“We are yet to confirm if the children of the said guard who was shot following the attack, have been placed on life scholarships to aid their education up to university level with his wife visited and consoled since the said guard died in active service.
“While some for whatever reason are unsympathetic to the plight of those who suffer from insecurity in the State and the losses they incurred, we are of the view that only through getting the Government to act by employing the youth will help in solving insecurity issues in the State.”
The Country Director, however, disclosed that some good-spirited individuals have reached out to him for donations and are on top gear.
“Your giving demonstrates love in your heart and faith in what we do,” he said, pledging to sustain the advocacy for government actions on all things affecting citizens.
