UNICAL Faculty Of Law Receives Alumni Class Of 2010, Seek Support

The Faculty of Law of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), has expressed readiness to welcome assistance from members of the faculty Alumni.

The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Rose Ohiama Ugbe, stated this when she received the Class of 2010 delegation led by their coordinator, Oliver C. Nwachukwu, where she disclosed that the faculty is willing and ready to receive support while commending them for not forgetting their Alma Mater.

“You really came at the apt time. Mba Ukweni, SAN, Ikani Agabi, SAN, and several others have rendered various assistance to the faculty in the areas of books and other resources. The help from these persons has gone a long way towards assisting the Faculty with educational needs.

“Please help us to thank them for their magnanimous gestures. Everything comes with consequences, so we are happy that you have come. Congratulations on your recent election of a new executive, we will be happy anywhere you want to come in to support us.”

Earlier, Oliver C. Nwakamma Esq, Coordinator of the Class of 2010 said the group was optimistic about meeting with the Dean and expressed their willingness to render help to the faculty: “You are a mother to us,” he said, adding that; “We congratulate you for taking up the leadership of the Faculty of Law. It gives us a sense of inspiration.”

He continued: “So, we have reorganized ourselves to reconnect with the Faculty. God has been faithful and we are not forgetting our background. We want to know, to what extent we can partner with the Faculty. We will come in to assist in the areas where the Faculty needs our help. We will discuss amongst ourselves, come to a conclusion, and communicate with you.”

Highlights of the courtesy visit were the presentation of a gift item to the Dean of the faculty and a group photograph.
