As the 2015 political year approaches, political leaders in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been urged to do the will of God and the decision of the people to avoid bloodshed prophecies in Cross River State.

The Bishop and National Vice President of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Rt. Rev. Mathew Okata urged politicians, particularly in the ruling PDP in the address he read before the governor and other leaders of PDP during the party’s thanksgiving at the church.

Specifically, the cleric called on the State governor to join hands with the churches and ‘Men of God’ to pray for a hitch free election so as to frustrate blood-bath prophecies of false prophets.

In his sermon, the cleric tasked the governor to always do the right thing to the will of God and the satisfaction of the people, doing this the cleric said, will continue to promote political tolerance and will eschew mutual suspicion among the people .

“As the 2015 political year approaches, we should pray, asking God for a hitch-free election so as to frustrate bloodbath prophecies of false prophets.

“Let us pray that God gives us a governor who will sustain and maintain existing infrastructure as well as galvanize human and economic development to the glory of God” the address stated in part.

The Bishop urged the governor to strengthen his project monitoring team due to what he described as poor attitude to work of some of the contractors handling Yahe-Wanikade-Oju road in North Ukele.

“Where the contractor comes and goes without any form of serious impact on ground will defeat government noble intentions for the people” he said.

The cleric commended Imoke’s giant strides in rural transformation with a rhetorical statement. “How is the State been faring Under PDP? The answer is not far fetched”.
