The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu has suspended two clan heads in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, HRH. Etinyin Ekpenyong Ekpo Asuquo, the Clan Head of Atimbo and Clan Head of Akansoko, HRH Etinyin Archibong Ita Le’Nelson, over insubordination.

In a press release issued via his Chief Press Secretary, Gill Nsa in Calabar, said the two clan heads flouted the Governor’s directives geared towards peace-making and orderliness in their leadership positions.

Governor Otu frowned, suspended, and warned the duo not to parade themselves as clan heads of both villages.

The release reads “His Excellency the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has received a report of unacceptable acts of insubordination by two clan heads in Akpabuyo Traditional Rulers Council, where the two: HRH Etinyin Ekpenyong Ekpo Asuquo (Clan Head of Atimbo) and HRH Etinyin Archibong Ita Le’Nelson (Clan Head of Akansoko) vehemently countered the directives of the Governor aimed at maintaining peace and orderliness in the leadership position of the Akpabuyo Traditional Rulers Council.

“Accordingly, the aforementioned persons; HRH Etinyin Ekpenyong Ekpo Asuquo (Clan Head of Atimbo) and HRH Etinyin Archibong Ita Le’Nelson (Clan Head of Akansoko) are hereby suspended indefinitely.

“More so, they are not expected to parade themselves anywhere and in any form as Clan Heads until further notice.

“This directive takes immediate effect as acting clan heads will be announced by the Governor in their stead.”
