A Cross River musician, Challex has commended the Nigeria Police for its strides in combating piracy in the country, especially in Cross River state.
Challex, an Ugep born fast rising music act and a final year student in the department of English Language at the Cross River State College of Education Awi, Akamkpa LGA who is signed to S.GEE FILMS record label told CrossRiverWatch that music is life to him and many other artists who invest their entire life into it are most times short changed by pirates who steal their works and deny them of their well deserve benefits.
Challex ‘D’ Boss as he is fondly called disclosed in this interview with our reporter that he has also been a victim of piracy.
He said: “My just concluded single was pirated after two weeks of its release but the police are taking good steps to arrest the individuals involved”.
Challex has done five singles, two mixtapes and three hits: back for war, no where, gangstar anthem, I see and duplicate featuring Teego which video is his first and will be launched this month, June 2014. He added that currently he’s working on a new video (the fresh experience).
He revealed that immediately after finishing work on the video, he’ll will be dropping the remix of back for war where he featured Real Pee Ajaba (from Obudu) and a Port Harcourt City based MI2.
The English student said combining professional music with schooling is difficult “but i’m trying my best.”
He told our reporter that he loves Tu Face but his mother is his role model.
