Let’s Give Peace A Chance – CP Gyogon Grimah Pleads Protesters

The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah has sued for peace and called for an to the ongoing #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest.

He made the call in a press release made available by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO SP) Irene Ugbo where he also lauded the peaceful demonstration for the past two days in the State.

CP Grimah said Command acknowledges and commends the collective efforts and cooperation of Cross Riverians, traditional and religious institutions, hoteliers, market associations, transport unions, youth groups, student unions, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), corporate bodies, other security agencies, media houses, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the dedicated police personnel of the command and others for the synergy and unwavering support recorded thus far. 

The Police Boss assured that in line with the principles of equity, fairness, and justice, especially in the context of 21st-century policing practices, the Command remains resolute in its commitment to proactively discharge its functions. 

He emphasizes the importance of security consciousness among the public and encouraged reporting any suspicious activities or unfamiliar individuals in their areas to the Police or other security agencies for prompt response, as security is everybody’s business.

The release reads: “The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Grimah, PSC, FCAI, extends his heartfelt appreciation to the residents of Cross River State for their peaceful and lawful conduct during the recent “End Bad Government” protest, despite the perceived threats of violence.

“CP Grimah urges all residents to continue their lawful activities without fear and to disregard any malicious, misleading, and unfounded information circulating for personal gain. He emphasizes the importance of security consciousness among the public and encourages reporting any suspicious activities or unfamiliar individuals in their areas to the Police or other security agencies for prompt response.

“CP Grimah, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, Cross River State Command, acknowledges and commends the collective efforts and cooperation of Cross Riverians, traditional and religious institutions, hoteliers, market associations, transport unions, youth groups, student unions, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), corporate bodies, other security agencies, media houses, the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the dedicated police personnel of the command.
