Police Nabs 4 For Vandalization, Stealing In Calabar

The Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, has nabbed four suspects for Vandalization and stealing in Calabar.

The Command said one David Enere Eton was arrested on Sunday August 4, 2024 at number 38 Egerton Street, Calabar South Local Government Area, for stealing and vandalism.

David 30 years old, was said to have been apprehended by a team of policemen attached to Government House Calabar, while vandalizing electric underground armored cable along the Deputy Governor’s Lodge.

According to the Police, David admitted of tampering with the cable and used his pliers to cut it off before he was caught.

He has been transferred to State Crinmal Investigation Department (State CID) for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

Similarly, on the same day on August 4 2024 at about 5pm, three (3) suspects were also nabbed by Operations Sting with twelve (12) pieces of zinc belonging to Government Secondary School Akansoko Community in Akpabuyo LGA.

Other exhibits recovered were one (1) harmer, one (1) solar panel, battery and solar bulbs vandalized from one of the streets in the area. 

The Command identifies them to be Augustine Bornet Edem, Elisha David Akpan and Akaniyene Daniel Akpan.

The Command’s spokesman, SP Irene Ugbo said “The suspects have confessed to the crime, they will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.”
