The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has confirmed that he personally authorized the evacuation of the generators his predecessor kept in Obudu to the Government House in Calabar.
The Governor explained to CrossRiverWatch this morning (Tuesday 10th June, 2025) that, the generators the former governor Ben Ayade bought were kept at the Obudu German hospital and were not working since purchase.
He said there are equipment in the facility that require electricity round the clock. He the governor disclosed that he had to import a brand new solar powered generator from Belgium that has been installed at the hospital.
With that, ordered the evacuation of the old generators to augment power shortages in the Government House in Calabar, instead of leaving them to lay waste in Obudu.
